UPSC CAPF Recruitment 2024 Eligibility Criteria

• Nationality: Applicants must be Indian citizens, with exceptions made for Nepali or Bhutanese citizens with the consent of the Central Government.
• Sex: Both male and female candidates are eligible for the Assistant Commandant positions.
• Age Limits:
  • Candidates must be between 20 and 25 years old as of August 1, 2024.
  • Age relaxations are provided for candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Other Backward Classes, and Civilian Central Government Servants/Ex-Servicemen.
• Educational Qualifications: Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university or institution. Those awaiting results or intending to appear for qualifying examinations in 2024 may also apply provisionally.
• Restrictions on Re-appearance: Candidates who have been finally selected in earlier Assistant Commandants examinations are not eligible to reappear.
• Physical Standards: Applicants must meet the prescribed physical and medical standards specified in the notification.
• Possession of NCC Certificates: Possession of NCC ‘B’ or ‘C’ Certificates will be considered a desirable qualification and may be considered for the Interview/Personality Test.

UPSC CAPF Recruitment 2024 Selection Process

(i) Written Examination: Conducted by UPSC on August 4, 2024, comprising Paper I (General Ability and Intelligence – 250 Marks) and Paper II (General Studies, Essay, and Comprehension – 200 Marks).

(ii) Physical Standards/Physical Efficiency Tests and Medical Standards Tests: Candidates passing the written exam undergo Physical Standards/Physical Efficiency Tests and Medical Standards Tests.

(iii) Interview/Personality Test: Candidates qualifying in the Medical Standards Tests proceed to Interview/Personality Test, carrying 150 Marks.

(iv) Final Selection/Merit: Based on marks obtained in the Written Examination and Interview/Personality Test.
