The UPSC CAPF AC Notification, dated April 24, 2024, seeks to fill 506 Assistant Commandant vacancies. The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) conducts an annual recruitment campaign across the country to select Grade A Officers (Assistant Commandants) in India’s numerous paramilitary forces, including the BSF, CRPF, CISF, ITBP, and SSB. The official UPSC website, www.upsc.gov.in, now hosts the online application process for UPSC CAPF Recruitment 2024, which has begun. UPSC CAPF Recruitment 2024 Eligibility Criteria

• Nationality: Applicants must be Indian citizens, with exceptions made for Nepali or Bhutanese citizens with the consent of the Central Government.
• Sex: Both male and female candidates are eligible for the Assistant Commandant positions.
• Age Limits:
  • Candidates must be between 20 and 25 years old as of August 1, 2024.
  • Age relaxations are provided for candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Other Backward Classes, and Civilian Central Government Servants/Ex-Servicemen.
• Educational Qualifications: Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university or institution. Those awaiting results or intending to appear for qualifying examinations in 2024 may also apply provisionally.
• Restrictions on Re-appearance: Candidates who have been finally selected in earlier Assistant Commandants examinations are not eligible to reappear.
• Physical Standards: Applicants must meet the prescribed physical and medical standards specified in the notification.
• Possession of NCC Certificates: Possession of NCC ‘B’ or ‘C’ Certificates will be considered a desirable qualification and may be considered for the Interview/Personality Test.

(i) Written Examination: Conducted by UPSC on August 4, 2024, comprising Paper I (General Ability and Intelligence – 250 Marks) and Paper II (General Studies, Essay, and Comprehension – 200 Marks).

(ii) Physical Standards/Physical Efficiency Tests and Medical Standards Tests: Candidates passing the written exam undergo Physical Standards/Physical Efficiency Tests and Medical Standards Tests.

(iii) Interview/Personality Test: Candidates qualifying in the Medical Standards Tests proceed to Interview/Personality Test, carrying 150 Marks.

(iv) Final Selection/Merit: Based on marks obtained in the Written Examination and Interview/Personality Test.

• Candidates (excluding females/SC/ST) must pay Rs. 200/- through various modes.
• Payment options include State Bank of India branches, Credit/Debit Card, UPI, or Internet Banking.
• “Pay by Cash” option requires printing a Pay-in-slip during registration and depositing at an SBI Branch.
• “Pay by Cash” option deactivates one day before the closing date.
• Applicants unable to pay by cash must use online payment modes.
• Fees are non-refundable and cannot be reserved for other exams.
• Failure to provide payment details within the specified time will result in application rejection.
• Female candidates and those from Scheduled Castes/Scheduled Tribes are exempt from fees.
• OBC/EWS candidates must pay the full fee.
