Union Bank of India is seeking applications from interested and qualified persons for the position of Stipendiary Player for the Bank’s Women’s Hockey Team. Candidates should have completed the tenth grade. The age range for applying is 16 to 25 years. Selected candidates would receive a monthly salary of Rs. 15,000. The selection will be position-specific. The stipendiary players will be engaged from August 2024 to July 2025 through selection trials, following the invitation of online applications from across the country.

Union Bank of India Recruitment 2024 Eligibility

• An Indian female citizen aged between 16 to 25 years as of 01.08.2024 (i.e., born between 01.08.2000 and 01.08.2008).
• Must have passed class 10th.
• Should have participated in international/national tournaments/events organized by or under the aegis of the Federation of International Hockey, Hockey India, or National Games during the last two years and the current year (2022, 2023, and 2024).

Union Bank of India Terms and Conditions of Engagement:

1. Period of Engagement: The engagement shall be from 01.08.2024 to 31.07.2025, with a possibility of extension by the Bank.
2. Employment Relationship: The stipendiary players shall not claim any employment relationship with the Bank under any circumstances and will not have any right to seek employment in the services of the Bank.
3. Exclusive Engagement: During the engagement period, players should neither avail of any scholarship/stipend from any other organization nor be employed with any government, semi-government, public sector, or private organization.

Union Bank of India Selection Process

Players will be selected based on:

• Past Performance (10 marks): Scores from international and national tournaments over the past three years, with additional marks for individual awards.
• Selection Trials (10 marks): Includes fitness and gaming skill assessments.
• Trial Match (5 marks): Performance in a trial match.
• Final Selection: A total score out of 25 determines selection. In the case of ties, preference is given to higher past performance scores and younger age.

Union Bank of India Stipend

• Monthly Stipend: A monthly stipend of Rs. 15,000/- shall be paid to the stipendiary players during the period of engagement.
• Additional Benefits: Players shall be eligible for Travel Allowance (TA) and Daily Allowance (DA) as applicable to JMGS-I employees, as well as out-of-pocket expenses during their participation in tournaments and practice camps organized by the Bank.

Union Bank of India Trial Location

The selection trials will take place in Bangalore, Bhubaneswar, and Pune. The Bank has the right to change, add, or delete any location. Candidates will not be reimbursed for TA/DA or other fees incurred while attending the selection trials. All candidates must organize their lodgings and transportation.

Union Bank of India Application Process

• Upload a recent color photograph, signature, and self-attested copies of the required documents.

Candidates called for selection trials must bring a printout of their application and original certificates for verification. Failure to do so or discrepancies in documents will result in rejection, barring participation in trials.
