About SSC CHSL
Staff Selection Commission (SSC) is an organization under the Government of India to recruit staff for various posts in the various ministries and departments of the government of India and in subordinate offices. This commission is an attached office of the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) which consists of a chairman, two members, and a secretary-cum-controller of examinations. His post is equivalent to the level of additional secretary to the government of India
SSC CHSL Recruitment 2024
The Staff Selection Commission has begun accepting online registrations for the CHSL Exam 2024 on its official website, ssc.gov.in. The registration began on April 9th and will continue until May 7th. Applicants can also make changes to their applications on May 10th and 11th.
The board indicated that the notification for recruitment to several 12th-grade positions would be released soon. Interested candidates must apply through the Commission’s new website. They must generate their One-Time Registration (OTR) on the new website, as the previous OTR will be invalid. The OTR should be completed well in advance of the official notice for the Combined Higher Secondary (10+2) Level Examination, 2024.

SSC CHSL Recruitment 2024 Eligibility Criteria
Education Qualification
For Data Entry Operator (DEO)/ DEO Grade ‘A’ in Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution, and Ministry of Culture, candidates must have passed 12th Standard in Science stream with Mathematics as a subject from a recognized Board or equivalent.
For LDC/JSA and DEO/DEO Grade ‘A’ (except DEOs in Department/ Ministry mentioned in Para 8.1 above), candidates must have passed the 12th Standard or equivalent examination from a recognized Board or University.
Candidates who have appeared in their 12th Standard or equivalent examination can also apply. However, they must possess the essential qualification on or before the cutoff date, i.e., 01-08-2024.
Age Limit
The age eligibility criteria for SSC CHSL 2024 is between 18 to 27 years. However, there are certain relaxations provided for specific categories, as per government guidelines:
- SC/ST: 5 years
- OBC: 3 years
- Persons with Disabilities (PwD-Unreserved): 10 years
- PwD + OBC: 13 years
- PwD + SC/ST: 15 years
- Ex-Servicemen: 3 years after deduction of the military service rendered from the actual age as on the closing date.
- Candidates who had ordinarily been domiciled in the State of Jammu & Kashmir during the period from 1st January 1980 to 31st December 1989: 5 years
- Defence Personnel disabled in operation during hostilities with any foreign country or in a disturbed area and released as a consequence thereof: 3 years
- Defence Personnel disabled in operation during hostilities with any foreign country or in a disturbed area and released as a consequence thereof (SC/ST): 8 years
- Central Government Civilian Employees who have rendered not less than 3 years of regular and continuous service as of the closing date for receipt of online applications: Up to 40 years of age
- Central Government Civilian Employees who have rendered not less than 3 years of regular and continuous service as of closing date for receipt of online applications (SC/ST): Up to 45 years of age
- Widows/Divorced Women/Women judicially separated and who are not remarried: Up to 35 years of age
- Widows/Divorced Women/Women judicially separated and who are not remarried (SC/ST): Up to 40 years of age
Nationality / Citizenship
- Candidates applying for the SSC CHSL examination must meet the following nationality criteria:
(a) Citizen of India
(b) Subject of Nepal
(c) Subject of Bhutan
(d) Person of Indian origin who has migrated from certain specified countries to permanently settle in India. - Candidates belonging to categories (b), (c), and (d) above must possess a certificate of eligibility issued by the Government of India.
- Candidates requiring a certificate of eligibility can still appear for the examination, but the offer of appointment will be given only after obtaining the necessary eligibility certificate from the Government of India.
SSC CHSL Recruitment 2024 Selection Process
- Minimum qualifying marks:
- UR: 30%
- OBC/EWS: 25%
- All other categories: 20%
- Shortlisting for Tier-II Examination based on Tier-I performance.
- Separate category-wise cut-offs in Tier-I and subsequent tiers for different posts.
- Mandatory participation in all sections of Tier II.
- Qualification in Tier-II sections is required for further evaluation.
- Section III of Tier II is qualifying, comprising the Computer Knowledge Test and Skill Test/Typing Test.
- Online preference submission is required before the final result declaration.
- Final selection based on Tier-II performance and post preferences.
- Final allotment of posts based on merit-cum-preferences, with no post changes due to non-fulfillment of specific requirements.
- Candidates selected are on probation for two years, subject to training and examination.
- All India Service Liability (AISL) applies to appointed candidates, liable to serve anywhere in India.
- Proficiency in the local language may be required for confirmation in allotted posts.
- Representation options are available for candidates not qualified for subsequent stages.
- Candidates not contacted within one-year post final result declaration must communicate with the concerned User Department.
- No waiting list/reserve list is maintained after the final result declaration.

- Lower Division Clerk (LDC)/ Junior Secretariat Assistant (JSA): Pay Level-2 (Rs. 19,900-63,200).
- Data Entry Operator (DEO): Pay Level-4 (Rs. 25,500-81,100) and Level-5 (Rs. 29,200-92,300).
- Data Entry Operator, Grade ‘A’: Pay Level-4 (Rs. 25,500-81,100).

- Fee payable: Rs 100/- (Rs one hundred only).
- Exemption: Women candidates, SC, ST, PwBD, and ESM.
