SAIL Recruitment 2024 Selection Process

1. Eligible candidates must appear for an examination, which may be computer-based (CBT). Details about the examination will be provided in the Admit Card.
2. Candidates shortlisted based on their performance in the Online test (CBT) will receive communication to appear for a Skill/Trade Test (as applicable for the post) through the careers page of SAIL’s website.
3. The weightage of marks for the Exam (CBT) will be 100%, while the Skill/Trade Test will be qualifying only.
4. Exam (CBT): Provisionally eligible candidates will undertake an objective type test (CBT) consisting of multiple-choice questions at centers decided by the Management. Minimum qualifying marks for unreserved posts/EWS will be determined based on a 50 percentile score. For SC/ST/OBC(NCL)/PwBD candidates, the minimum qualifying marks will be a 40 percentile score only for posts reserved for them.
5. Skill/Trade Test: Candidates who qualify in the exam (CBT) will be shortlisted for the Skill Test in a ratio of 1:3 category-wise in order of merit. For final selection, a merit list will be prepared in descending order separately for each category based on the total marks obtained in the exam (CBT) by candidates who qualify in the Skill/Trade Test.
