PGCIL Recruitment 2024 Eligibility Criteria
Essential Qualification:
- B.E./B.Tech/B.Sc. (Engg.) in Electronics or related disciplines with at least 60% marks or equivalent CGPA.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Valid GATE 2024 score in the EC (Electronics and Communication) paper.
Career Progression:
- E1 to E2 & above (up to E6): 5 years
- E0 to E1: 5 years (excluding training)
Relaxation:
- Reservation and relaxation for reserved categories and PwBD as per Government norms.
- PwBD candidates must have at least 40% disability and upload a valid certificate.
Other Details:
- Upper Age Limit: 28 years as of December 19, 2024.
- Women candidates are encouraged to apply.
PGCIL Recruitment 2024 Selection Process
- GATE 2024 Score: Candidates must have a valid score in the corresponding GATE 2024 paper. Shortlisting for the next stages will be based on normalized marks out of 100 from GATE 2024.
- Behavioral Assessment, Group Discussion (GD), and Personal Interview:
- Shortlisted candidates based on GATE score will be called for GD and Interview.
- GD and Interview will be in Hindi or English.
- Candidates must qualify in the Personal Interview to be considered for empanelment.
- Qualifying Marks in Interview:
- UR/EWS: 40%
- Reserved Categories: 30% (subject to post reservation)
- Weightage for Final Score:
- GATE 2024 Marks (out of 100): 85%
- Group Discussion: 3%
- Personal Interview: 12%
- Empanelment:
- Behavioral assessment results will be considered in the interview.
- Only candidates who qualify for the Personal Interview will be considered for empanelment.
PGCIL Recruitment 2024 Agreement Bond

Selected candidates will be required to sign a service agreement bond to serve the Corporation for a minimum of three years after successfully completing the training
PGCIL Recruitment 2024 Training and Compensation
- Training Period: 1 year
- Stipend: Rs. 30,000 – 1,20,000 (IDA) + HRA and perks (12% of Basic Pay).
- Post-Training:
- After successful training, candidates will be placed as Assistant Engineer (E0 level) with the same pay scale.
- On Regularization:
- Compensation Package: Includes Basic Pay, Dearness Allowance, Perquisites, HRA, Performance Pay, Terminal Benefits, and other allowances.
- Additional Benefits: Conveyance Advance, Medical facilities, TA/DA, and more.

PGCIL Recruitment 2024 Application Process
- Candidates need to apply online on the POWERGRID website by entering their GATE 2024 Application Number and Registration Number, which should exactly match the details printed on the GATE 2024 Admit Card/Score Card. Once submitted, no changes will be permitted.
- Applications are only accepted online. Email ID, Alternate Email, and Mobile Number are required.
- Candidates can apply only once. You can edit/update the application until the last submission date.
- Keep a printout of the message generated after the submission of the application for Document Verification and record the user ID and password for the future!!
- Verify that the entered qualifications correspond to those specified in the certificates.
- Test Booklet must be printed on one side A4 size during the written test GATE 2024 Admit Card(GATE 2024, printed in a single side) and Original Score Card will be required to verify your identity during GD/Interview.
- The application fee of Rs. 500 (non-refundable) is for all except for SC/ST/PwBD/Ex-SM/D-ExSM candidates. Payment is made during registration through a candidate login.
- Attend the interview with ID proof (Aadhar, Passport, Voter ID, etc.) No photocopies will be accepted. Candidates without valid photo ID, GATE Admit Card, and Score Card will not be allowed to appear for GD/Interview.
