About NLC

NLC India Limited (NLC) (formerly Neyveli Lignite Corporation Limited) is a central public sector undertaking under the administrative control of the Ministry of Coal, Government of India. It annually produces about 30 million tonnes of lignite from opencast mines at Neyveli in the state of Tamil Nadu in southern India and at Barsingsar in Bikaner district of Rajasthan state. The lignite is used at pithead thermal power stations of 3640 MW installed capacity to produce electricity. Its joint venture has a 1000 MW thermal power station using coal. Lately, it has diversified into renewable energy production and installed a 1404 MW solar power plant to produce electricity from photovoltaic (PV) cells and 51 MW of electricity from windmills.

NLC India Limited, a “Navratna” Public Sector Enterprise, Under the Ministry of Coal, invites
application from eligible Wards of Project Affected Persons who have been given land and houses after
1977 to NLC India Ltd., with Engineering & Non- Engineering Graduates / Diploma in Engineering
courses and passed during the years 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022 & 2023, for one year Apprenticeship
Training under the Apprentices (Amendment) Act, 1973 in the following designated subject fields:-

NLC Recruitment Selection Process

FOR ENGINEERING GRADUATE & DIPLOMA APPRENTICES:

• Selection will be based on a percentage of marks scored by the candidates in the
  qualifying Degree / Diploma, as the case may be.
• The percentage of marks obtained by the candidate in Bachelors’s Degree / Diploma and as
  awarded in the final qualifying examinations will be calculated based on the practice followed
  by the University / Institution from where the candidate has obtained the Degree / Diploma.
•  In case the candidate is awarded grades / CGPA instead of marks, the percentage of marks
  will be based on the procedure followed by the University / Institution from where he/she
  has obtained the Bachelor’s Degree / Diploma

•  In the absence of any established scheme in the University / Institution for the calculation of
  percentage of marks, the following principles will apply
• In case the candidate is awarded Grades / CGPA, then the equivalence in percentage of
  marks will be established by multiplying the Grade / CGPA by a factor of 10.
•  In case the candidate is awarded marks semester-wise, then the equivalence in
  percentage of marks will be established by taking the average percentage of marks
  obtained by the candidate in all the semesters from II years to the final year, considering the
  semester-wise average.
•  In case the candidate is awarded marks year-wise, then the equivalence in percentage of
  marks would be established by taking the average percentage of marks obtained by
  the candidate in all the years from II year to final year, considering the year-wise average.

METHOD OF SELECTION FOR NON-ENGG. GRADUATE APPRENTICES:

• Selection will be based on a percentage of marks scored by the candidates in all subjects in the XII
  Std. (HSc) examinations.

•  Click the CAREERS link to open the Careers page.
• Select the Trainees & Apprentices tab.
•  Click the appropriate Online Application link under Advt., No. L&DC.02/2023/PE. (The link will
  be available from 10.00 Hours on 07.08.2023 to 17.00 Hours on 16.08.2023.)
• Complete the application form and take a printout of the registration form.
• The Registration forms duly signed should be submitted directly to the
  Office of The General Manager, Land Department, N.L.C India Limited. Block-20, Neyveli – 607 803.
  on or before 23.08.2023 by 5.00 pm

NOTE:

• Candidates should keep track of the selection process by regularly visiting the NLCIL website.
• The Selected list of Candidates will be displayed on the notice board of L&DC, Internet and
• The intranet website tentatively on 27-09-2023 and the selected candidates will tentatively join their
  training on 30-09-2023.
• Candidates are advised to check the website for their selection. Any other correspondence either
