Metro Railway Kolkata Recruitment 2025 Eligibility Criteria
- Age:
- Candidates must be between 15 and 24 years old (as of the cutoff date).
- Age relaxation: 5 years for SC/ST, 3 years for OBC-NCL, 10 years for PwBD, and 10 years for Ex-servicemen (up to the length of service, plus 3 years).
- Ex-servicemen must provide Discharge and Pension Papers.
- Educational Qualification:
- Must have passed the 10th class with a minimum of 50% marks and possess a National Trade Certificate from NCVT/SCVT.
- Medical Eligibility:
- Candidates must meet physical fitness standards as per the Apprenticeship Act.
- A medical certificate from a government-authorized doctor is required at document verification.
Metro Railway Kolkata Recruitment 2025 Selection Process
- Selection Basis: Merit list will be based on the data filled in the online application form. Any discrepancies will result in the cancellation of the candidature.
- Merit Determination: Merit will be calculated by averaging the percentage marks obtained in the Matriculation and ITI exams, giving equal weightage to both. For example, if a candidate scores 80.58% in Matriculation and 91.68% in ITI, their average will be (80.58 + 91.68)/2 = 86.1%.
- Tie-breaker: If two candidates have the same marks, the older candidate will be preferred. If both candidates share the same age and marks, the one who passed the Matriculation exam earlier will be preferred.
- Verification: Candidates shortlisted based on merit will be called for verification. The list will be prepared according to the community and available training slots.
- Training Slot Allocation: Candidates will be allocated a slot based on merit and community category. The slot is exclusive to the candidate and cannot be repeated.
- Final Decision: The Railway Administration’s decision regarding the selection process will be final.
