About JCI

The Jute Corporation of India Limited (JCI) is a central public sector undertaking under the Ministry of Textiles, Government of India, established in 1971 as a price support agency. JCI’s mandate is to procure raw jute and mesta from growers at the minimum support price (MSP) set annually by the government, based on recommendations from the Commission for Agricultural Costs and Prices (CACP). This initiative protects jute farmers from exploitation by middlemen. JCI’s primary goal is to support approximately 4 million families engaged in jute farming, particularly small and marginal farmers while stabilizing raw jute prices in the market.

JCI Recruitment 2024 Education Qualification

• Candidates must have passed Class 12th from any Institute recognized by the Board/State Board.
• Only those who completed their Class 12th in the years 2020, 2021, 2022, and 2023 are eligible to apply.
• Postgraduate, engineering graduates, or diploma holders who have completed training, are pursuing apprenticeship training, or have one year or more of job experience after obtaining the required qualifications are not eligible for the apprenticeship under the Apprentices Act, 1961.

JCI Recruitment 2024 Age Limit

Age Limit

• Minimum Age: 18 years (as of 01.09.2024)
• Maximum Age: 21 years (as of 01.09.2024)

Age Relaxation:

• The upper age limit is relaxed by:
  • 5 years for SC/ST candidates
  • 3 years for OBC (NCL) candidates

Date of Birth Proof:

• Accepted documents for date of birth verification include:
  • Birth Certificate issued by the Competent Authority
  • Passing Certificate, Marks Sheet, or Admit Card of Class X/10th
• No other documents will be accepted as proof of date of birth.

JCI Recruitment 2024 Selection Process

• The merit list will be created based on the overall percentage of marks secured in Class XII.
• Candidates must provide their exact percentage; rounding off is not allowed (e.g., 75.60% cannot be rounded to 76% or 75%).
• Providing false information will lead to the cancellation of the application.
• Candidates will be screened based on the details provided in their application, which will be verified later.
• Candidates may be required to submit further documents to support their eligibility.
• Shortlisted candidates will be called for document verification at the Corporation’s Head Office in Kolkata. Details will be sent to the registered email.
• Failure to attend the document verification will be treated as unwillingness to accept the selection process.
• Candidates must bring original documents for proof of identity, date of birth, qualification, and caste category (if applicable).
• Candidates will be called for verification in a 1:2 ratio (for every vacancy, a maximum of two candidates will be called).
• In case of a tie in Class XII percentages, all tied candidates will be invited for document verification.
• Only documents uploaded with the application will be accepted. No additional documents will be considered, and the application will be rejected if any are presented.
• Management reserves the right to change the verification ratio based on the number of candidates.
• Final selection will occur after document verification according to vacancy details.
• Attending the document verification does not guarantee selection as an Apprentice with JCI.

The Corporation’s decision regarding selection will be final and binding.

JCI Recruitment 2024 Stipend

• The monthly stipend for Apprentice (Procurement of Raw Jute and Grading) is Rs. 7,000.
• No additional allowances for food, lodging, or medical facilities will be provided.
• The stipend will be directly deposited into the apprentices’ bank accounts via NEFT.

JCI Recruitment 2024 Registration of Contract

• Selected candidates must sign a Contract of Apprenticeship Training with JCI.

JCI Recruitment 2024 Place & Period of Training 

• Apprentices may be assigned to any of the company’s offices across the country for training.
• The apprenticeship training will last for 12 months, starting from the date the contract is signed.

• Step 1: Apprenticeship Registration
  Register on the Apprenticeship India portal (apprenticeshipindia.gov.in). Apply for “The Jute Corporation of India Limited” by October 21, 2024.
• Step 2: Candidate Registration
  a) Superscribe the envelope with the Post Name and Advertisement Number.
  b) Send a signed Application Form (Annexure-I), Annexure-II, self-attested copies of documents, and two passport-size photos via REGISTERED/SPEED POST to:
