The Indian Institute of Remote Sensing (IIRS), a unit of the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), is a premier institute for capacity building and research in Remote Sensing (RS) and Geoinformatics. The Indian Institute of Remote Sensing (IIRS), a unit of the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) and a premier institute for capacity building and research in Remote Sensing (RS) and Geoinformatics, invites young and motivated Indian citizens for a walk-in interview. The institute is offering 16 temporary positions for Junior Research Fellows (JRF) and 2 temporary positions for Research Scientists (RS) under various research projects.

ISRO IIRS Recruitment 2024 Age Limit
For JRF:
- Maximum age: 28 years as of the date of the Walk-in Interview.
- Relaxation: 5 years for SC/ST candidates and 3 years for OBC candidates.
- Ex-servicemen, Meritorious Sportspersons, and Persons with Benchmark Disability (PWBD) are eligible for age relaxation as per Government of India orders.
- Candidates claiming age relaxation must submit valid documentary proof.
For Research Scientist:
- Maximum age: 35 years as of the date of the Walk-in Interview.
- Relaxation: 5 years for SC/ST candidates and 3 years for OBC candidates.
- Ex-servicemen, Meritorious Sportspersons, and Persons with Benchmark Disability (PWBD) are eligible for age relaxation as per Government of India orders.
- Candidates claiming age relaxation must submit valid documentary proof.
ISRO IIRS Recruitment 2024 Selection Process
Candidates for ISRO IIRS JRF and Research Scientist posts will be selected based on their performance in the walk-in interview scheduled for 8th, 9th, and 10th July 2024. The interview will assess academic knowledge and skills relevant to the project requirements.
ISRO IIRS Recruitment 2024 Salary
JRF:
- Monthly fellowship: ₹37,000, plus HRA as per government rules.
- CHSS medical facility for self only.
- Casual leave and maternity leave as per DOS/ISRO guidelines.
- The initial appointment is for one year, and it is extendable up to five years based on performance and project funding.
- Project-based position, not eligible for regular appointment at DOS/ISRO.
Research Scientist:
- The initial appointment is for one year and is extendable based on performance and funding.
- Engaged on contract at Level 10 of Pay Matrix (₹56100-177500).
- DA, HRA, and CHSS medical facility for self.
- Leave and service benefits per IIRS/ISRO guidelines.
- No annual increment, CCA, Bonus, LTC, or retirement benefits.
- Fellowship does not guarantee regular appointments at DOS/ISRO.
ISRO IIRS Recruitment 2024 Application Process
Candidates must fill and bring the Interview Application Form (Annexure) along with self-attested copies of educational qualifications to the Walk-in Interview. A valid email ID is mandatory for all communications, and applicants should monitor both email and the IIRS website regularly. Forms sent by mail or post will not be accepted; they must be submitted in person at the interview. Separate forms are needed for each position applied for.
