IREL Railway Recruitment 2024 Eligibility Criteria
Education Qualification
- Graduate Apprentices: B.E/B.Tech in the related field.
- Technician Apprentices: Diploma in the related field.
- Trade Apprentices (ITI): ITI in the trade.
- Trade Apprentices: MBA or MA in IR & PM, CA/ICWAI/MFC, MBA (F&C), PGD in Finance, B.Sc in Chem, or Ex-ITI Lab Asst. (Chem Plant).
Age Limit
The minimum age of the candidate should be 18 years, and the maximum age should be 25 years as of the last date of application. Age relaxation for candidates belonging to Scheduled Tribes (ST) is up to 5 years, for Other Backward Classes (OBC) (Non-Creamy Layer) is 3 years, and for Persons with Disabilities (PwD) is up to 10 years.
IREL Railway Recruitment 2024 Selection Process
The selection of candidates for engagement as Apprentices will be based on the following criteria:
- Educational Qualification: Candidates must fulfill the criteria regarding educational qualifications, marks obtained, and age eligibility. Selection will be based on a merit list prepared from the marks scored in the educational qualification.
- Medical Fitness: Candidates must be found “Medically fit” by IREL (India) Limited’s Medical Officer.
- Tie-Breaker: In case of a tie, preference will be given to candidates with higher marks in the educational qualification. If there is still a tie, seniority based on date of birth will be considered.
- Categories for Selection:
- Land Affected Category: Candidates who have been given land and can provide documentary proof.
- Candidates residing within a radius of 7 km from the IREL unit.
- Candidates who are widows or dependents of IREL employees who died while in service.
- Candidates residing in villages within a 7 km to 10 km radius of the OSCOM unit.
- Candidates domiciled in the state (documentary proof required).
- Candidates from the Rest of India, subject to guidelines by the Government of India applicable at the time.
IREL Railway Recruitment 2024 Salary
The rates of stipend for the apprentices will be prescribed under the Apprentices Act, 1961, and as notified by the Government from time to time. During the period of training, IREL (India) will not provide any additional benefits or financial assistance to apprentices.

- Note Establishment Registration Number: Take note of the Establishment Registration Number required for applying. For Diploma / Technician Apprenticeship, use Establishment Registration No. E0421210003, and for Graduate / Technician Apprenticeship, use Establishment Registration No. EORGNCÄI.
