About Indian Navy
Indian Navy is the maritime branch of the Indian Armed Forces. The President of India is the Supreme Commander of the Indian Navy. The Chief of Naval Staff, a four-star admiral, commands the navy. As a blue-water navy, it operates significantly in the Persian Gulf Region, the Horn of Africa, and the Strait of Malacca, and routinely conducts anti-piracy operations and partners with other navies in the region.

Indian Navy Recruitment 2024 Eligibility Criteria

Age Limit
Candidates should be born between November 1, 2003, and April 30, 2007, inclusive of both dates.
Marital Status
Only unmarried Indian male and female candidates are eligible for enrollment as Agniveer in the Indian Navy (IN). Candidates must provide a certificate of being ‘unmarried’ at the time of enrollment. Agniveers are prohibited from marrying during their entire tenure of four years in the IN. If a candidate marries during their tenure or is found to be already married despite providing a certificate of being unmarried, they will be dismissed from service.
Indian Navy Recruitment 2024 Duration Of Training
Duration of Service: Agniveers will be enrolled in the Indian Navy under the Navy Act 1957 for a period of four years. They will constitute a distinct rank, separate from any other existing rank, and will hold the junior-most position in the Indian Navy. The Indian Navy is not obligated to retain Agniveers beyond the four-year engagement period.
Leave: Agniveers are entitled to 30 days of leave per year. Additionally, sick leave will be granted based on medical advice from a competent medical authority.

Indian Navy Recruitment 2024 Selection Process
Selection Process For Matric Recruit (MR)
Stage I – Shortlisting (INET)
Stage II – PFT, Written Exam, Medical Exam
Stage I (INET):
Shortlisting based on INET performance, done state-wise. Minimum height for males and females: 157 cm. Tattoos are permitted on the inner forearms and back of hands only. Good physical and mental health is required. Visual standards: Uncorrected Vision: 6/12, 6/12; Corrected Vision: 6/6, 6/6; Colour Perception: II.
Stage II – PFT, Written Exam, Medical Exam:
Candidates who are shortlisted in the Indian Navy Entrance Test (INET) examination will receive a call-up letter for Stage II, which includes the Physical Fitness Test (PFT), written examination, and Recruitment Medical. Stage II will be conducted at designated Indian Navy centers. The syllabus for the Stage II written exam is available on the official websites. An Aadhar Card is mandatory for Stage II.
Physical Standards:
Qualifying in the Physical Fitness Test (PFT) is mandatory for selection. Candidates participating in the PFT do so at their own risk. The PFT standards are as follows:
For Males: 1.6 Km run in 6 minutes 30 seconds, 20 squats (Uthak Baithak), 15 pushups, and 15 bent knee sit-ups.
For Females: 1.6 Km run in 8 minutes, 15 squats, 10 pushups, and 10 bent knee sit-ups.
Proficiency in sports, swimming, and extracurricular activities is desirable.
Selection Process for Agniveer (SSR)
