India Post Office Recruitment 2024 Eligibility Criteria
Education Qualification
Qualifications for the Staff Car Driver (Ordinary Grade) position include:
i. Possession of a valid driving license for light and heavy motor vehicles.
ii. Knowledge of motor mechanisms, including the ability to remove minor defects in vehicles.
iii. Experience in driving light and heavy motor vehicles for at least three years (certification required).
iv. Pass in 10th standard from a recognized Board or Institute.
Desirable Qualification
Three years of service as a Home guard or Civil Volunteers.
Age limit
The age limit for the Staff Car Driver (Ordinary Grade) position is 18 to 27 years. Relaxations are applicable:
Up to 5 years for SC & ST candidates
Up to 3 years for OBC candidates
For Government servants, up to 40 years as per Central Government instructions or orders
For Ex-Servicemen, up to a maximum of 3 years (08 years for SC & ST and 06 years for OBC) after deduction of military service rendered from the actual age.

Selection for the Driver position will be based on a driving test to assess competency in driving light and heavy motor vehicles, including knowledge of motor mechanisms and the ability to remove minor defects in vehicles. Additionally, there will be a Theory Test for candidates meeting the eligibility criteria. The pattern, syllabus, date, and venue of the tests will be communicated separately to eligible candidates. No intimation will be sent to ineligible applicants.

The selected candidates will receive a pay scale of Rs. 19,900 to Rs. 63,200 in Pay Level-2 under the 7th CPC, along with admissible allowances.

Candidates must submit their applications in the prescribed format, signed by the candidate, and accompanied by the following documents:
- Photocopies of certificates duly attested by a Gazetted officer or self-attested, including:
- Age proof
- Educational Qualification
- Valid Driving Licence
- Valid Experience Certificate
- Valid OBC Certificate (Non-Creamy-layer) if applicable
- Technical qualification
- Address proof
- Photo ID proof
- Valid EWS certificate
- Valid SC/ST Certificate
- Valid Ex-serviceman certificate, clearly indicating the trade of the applicant
- Two copies of recent passport-size photographs, self-attested by the candidate. One photograph should be pasted on the application form, and the other should be attached to the form.
Applicants must submit their applications, along with the necessary documents, in a thick paper envelope via Speed Post or Registered Post only.
