The Indian Institute of Astrophysics (IIA) is an autonomous national institution under the Department of Science & Technology, Government of India. It is dedicated to research in Astronomy, Astrophysics, and related Sciences & Technologies. The institute is headquartered at its main campus in Koramangala, Bengaluru, and also operates the CREST Campus in Hosakote, Bengaluru. IIA manages several field stations across India, including Kavalur and Kodaikanal in Tamil Nadu, Gauribidanur in Karnataka, and Leh/Hanle in the Union Territory of Ladakh.
Young, bright, and highly motivated individuals are invited to attend a Walk-In Interview for the position of Engineer Trainee at Raman Science Centre, Indian Astronomical Observatory, Leh, under the Indian Institute of Astrophysics. IAP (presumably the Indian Institute of Astrophysics) invites applications for the position of Engineer Trainee (Computer/Electronics/Electrical/Civil) on a contractual basis. The age limit for this post is 26 years. Selected candidates will receive a monthly remuneration of Rs. 30,000/-. The selection will be based on the candidate’s performance in the walk-in interview. Interested and eligible candidates can attend the walk-in interview scheduled for 25th and 26th July 2024.

The selection process will primarily assess candidates based on their performance in the interview. In cases where there is a higher number of candidates, the Institute reserves the right to conduct a written test to shortlist candidates for the walk-in interview
The appointment is purely temporary on a contract basis and does not include any privileges or benefits applicable to regular employment. The Institute does not entertain any claims for regular employment.
The tenure of the traineeship is initially for one year and can be extended annually up to a maximum of four years (a total of five years of traineeship) based on the satisfactory performance of the candidate and the institute’s annual requirements.
