About DRDO

The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) is the premier agency under the Department of Defence Research and Development in the Ministry of Defence of the Government of India. It is responsible for military research and development and is headquartered in Delhi, India. Established in 1958 through the merger of the Technical Development Establishment and the Directorate of Technical Development and Production of the Indian Ordnance Factories, along with the Defence Science Organisation, it was administered under Jawaharlal Nehru’s administration. The Centre for High Energy Systems & Sciences (CHESS), a division of the Defence Research and Development Organization (DRDO), has released a notification for Graduate/Technician Apprenticeships. With 25 vacancies up for grabs, candidates with B.E/B.Tech/Diploma qualifications in relevant trades can apply. Interested individuals can submit their applications via email by June 1, 2024. DRDO CHESS Apprentice 2024 Selection Process

Selection will be based on either the percentage of marks obtained by candidates at the essential qualification level or a Personal Interview conducted via Video Conferencing (Virtual) mode, exclusively for shortlisted candidates.

• Technician (Diploma) Apprentices: Rs.8000/-

DRDO CHESS Apprentice 2024 Application Procedure

1. Eligibility Verification: Candidates must ensure they meet the specified eligibility criteria mentioned in the advertisement before applying.
2. NATS Registration: Graduate Apprentice (B.E/B.Tech) and Technician Apprentice (Diploma) candidates need to register on the National Apprenticeship Training Scheme (NATS 2.0) portal at https://nats.education.gov.in. Lack of registration may lead to rejection of applications.
3. Application Download: Visit https://drdo.gov.in to download the application forms. Fill in all details accurately and upload scanned copies of mandatory documents.
4. Application Submission: Candidates with B.E/B.Tech/Diploma qualifications can send their applications directly to hrd.chess@gov.in using the provided application format as Annexure ‘A’.
5. Document Verification: During the joining process at CHESS, Hyderabad, candidates must bring a signed printout of the application along with original documents submitted online.
6. Reservation Policy: Reservation for SC/ST/OBC/PWD/EWS categories will be applicable as per the provisions of the Apprentice Act 1961, Apprentice Rules 1992, and Apprenticeship (Amendment) Rules 2015.
7. Application Deadline: The last date for receiving applications is 21 days from the date of advertisement in Employment News. Applications submitted after this date will not be accepted.
8. Incomplete Applications: Ensure all sections of the application form are filled out completely. Incomplete or partially filled applications will be rejected.
