CSIR-Central Glass and Ceramic Research Institute (CGCRI) has announced a new job notification for 25 Apprentice Vacancies. Essential Qualification

Applicants for the CSIR-CGCRI Apprentice vacancies must hold one of the following qualifications from a UGC-approved Statutory University/Deemed University in relevant disciplines:

1. B.A. in English, Hindi, Economics, History, Sociology, Political Science, Geography, Philosophy, Anthropology, Photography, Public Administration, etc. OR
2. B.Sc. in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Zoology, Botany, Microbiology, Computer Science, Statistics, Hotel & Hospitality Management, Catering Technology, Environmental Science, Electronics, etc. OR
3. B.Com, BBA, BCA, Bachelor of Hotel Management, Entrepreneurship, Business Studies, etc.

Applicants should have graduated between 2020-2024.

Desirable Qualifications

• Hindi to English and English to Hindi Translation
• Computer Operations/Applications

Age Limit

The age limit will be followed as per the Apprenticeship Acts & Rules.

Fields of training

• Hands-on training in various Administrative, Financial, and Accounting tasks
• Familiarization with Rajbhasha-related Rules and Regulations
• Secretarial Assistance
• Maintenance of official files and records
• Registration of dak (mail)
• Data Entry
• Translation work (English to Hindi and vice versa)
• Hospitality services in the canteen and guest houses
• Other non-technical activities.

CSIR – CGCRI Recruitment 2024 Duration & Stipend

• The duration of the training for all the above areas/disciplines is one (01) year.
• The stipend per month for the CSIR-CGCRI Apprentice positions is Rs. 9000.

CSIR – CGCRI Recruitment 2024 General Conditions

Here are the key points from the CSIR-CGCRI Apprentice notification:

• Applications received after the last date and without NATS registration through the BOPT Portal will not be considered.
• Candidates who have already completed an apprenticeship, are currently undergoing an apprenticeship elsewhere, or have one year or more of experience are not eligible.
• In case of a large number of applications, the Selection Committee will adopt its criteria for shortlisting candidates based on available vacancies.
• Weightage will be given to candidates belonging to reserved categories as per the Apprentice Act.
• Minimum physical standards as prescribed in the Apprenticeship Rule, 1992, and any amendments thereof, will be required.
• Selected candidates will have to arrange their stay during the training period. CSIR-CGCRI will not bear any boarding or lodging expenses.
• The decision of the Director, CSIR-CGCRI, Kolkata, will be final and binding on all matters relating to eligibility, acceptance or rejection of applications, mode of selection, and cancellation of the selection process. No correspondence or interim queries will be entertained.
• The filling of seats is at the discretion of the Director, CSIR-CGCRI, Kolkata, based on the suitability of candidates.
