Chennai Metro Rail Limited (CMRL) has announced a notification for the PG Diploma course with a total of 18 vacancies. Candidates with B.E/B. Tech qualifications are eligible to apply. Interested and eligible candidates can apply online from 09 June 2024 to 29 June 2024.

CMRL Recruitment 2024 Eligibility Criteria

Educational requirements

• First-class graduates with a minimum aggregate average of 70% marks (65% for SC/ST candidates) in Civil, Electrical, Electronics and Communication, Electrical and Electronics, or Mechanical Engineering from a recognized university/institute approved by AICTE/UGC.
• Candidates must have a valid GATE score at the time they apply.
• Final-year students who will receive an applicable degree before the start of the course may also apply.
• CGPA will be converted to percentage marks under IIT M Senate guidelines.

Age limit:

• 28 years as of June 9, 2024 (relaxation of 3 years for OBC (NCL) and 5 years for SC/ST).
• Persons with disabilities are eligible for an age concession of up to ten years over and above the stipulated age limitations, providing the applicant is otherwise fully qualified and the handicap does not render the applicant incapable of carrying out the duties of the office.

CMRL Recruitment 2024 Selection Process

The provisional selection is based on a legitimate GATE score and an interview. The ultimate selection will be based on medical fitness.

CMRL Recruitment 2024 Stipend & Contract Period

• Executive Trainee Period: Candidates who are selected will be classified as Executive Trainees for the one-year course period, with a monthly salary of Rs. 30,000. CMRL will fund the appropriate sponsorship and tuition fees for the PGDMRTM program at the Indian Institute of Technology Madras.
• Assistant Manager Period: Upon successful completion of the course, trainees will be appointed as Assistant Managers on a 5-year contract with a consolidated monthly salary of Rs. 62,000 at Chennai Metro Rail Ltd.
• Increments: Candidates who excel in the course and achieve a CGPA of 8.5 or higher will receive two advance increments upon enrollment, while others will receive one.
• Contract Extension and Permanent Absorption: After 5 years of service as Assistant Manager, the contract may be extended depending on project requirements and applicant performance. Permanent absorption may also be considered based on project requirements, performance, eligibility standards, and other current CMRL HR policies.

CMRL Recruitment 2024 Bond

• Execution of Bond: Before joining the course, selected candidates must execute a bond of Rs. 6 lakhs to serve Chennai Metro Rail Limited for six years, including the one-year PG Diploma course period.
• Failure to Qualify/Complete Course: Candidates who fail to qualify or complete the course will not be posted in Chennai Metro Rail Limited and must pay a bond amount of Rs. 6 lakhs to cover the training cost.
• Non-Joining Penalty: Trainees who complete the course but do not join Chennai Metro Rail Limited within ten days of course completion will have their candidature lapse and must pay the Rs. 6 lakh bond amount.

c) Non-refundable: The fee, once paid, will not be refunded under any circumstances. Candidates are advised to verify their eligibility and time limits before paying the application fee.

CMRL Recruitment 2024- How to Apply?

Step 1: Register on the CMRL Career portal using a valid email ID. The registered email will be used for further correspondence from CMRL.

Step 2: A registration link will be sent to the candidate’s registered email ID. Click the verify button in the email to authenticate the email ID. Once verified, you will be redirected to the CMRL career page to log in and apply.

Step 3: Fill in all details in each section of the application form and upload the requisite documents as per the notification. Ensure all information is accurate and the documents authenticate the details mentioned in the application form.

Important Notes:

• Scrutiny of applications for shortlisting candidates will be based solely on documents/certificates uploaded by the candidates during online registration/application submission.
• No hard copy applications will be entertained. Candidates are advised not to send any hard copies to the office.
