About Border Security Force (BSF)
The Border Security Force (BSF), under the Ministry of Home Affairs, was established in 1965 to secure India’s borders with Pakistan and Bangladesh. Initially formed with 25 battalions, BSF has grown to 193 battalions and a strength of 270,000 personnel, including air and water wings, and specialized units. It is the world’s largest border security force and is considered India’s First Line of Defence.

Border Security Force (BSF) Recruitment 2024 Eligibility Criteria
- Educational Qualifications: Candidates should have completed an Intermediate/ Senior Secondary School Certificate (10+2) from a recognized Board or University, or equivalent.
- Age Limit:
- For Assistant Sub Inspector and Warrant Officer: 18-25 years
- For Head Constable and Havildar: 18-25 years
- Age relaxation as per government norms for reserved categories.
