About Border Security Force (BSF)

The Border Security Force (BSF) is India’s primary border guarding organization, established after the Indo-Pakistani War of 1965. BSF accepts online applications for 1526 positions, including Assistant Sub Inspector (Stenographer/Combatant Stenographer) and Head Constable (Ministerial/Combatant Ministerial). BSF Recruitment 2024 Eligibility Criteria

Education Qualification

• Candidates must have completed the Intermediate or Senior Secondary School Certificate (10+2) examination from a recognized board, university, or equivalent.
• Candidates who have not obtained the required educational requirements as of the deadline will be ineligible and should not apply.
• All candidates who pass the Physical Standard Test (PST), Physical Efficiency Test (PET), Computer Test (CBT), and Skill Test must present all applicable educational certificates in original form as proof of meeting the minimum educational qualification on or before August 1, 2024. Failure to do so will result in the withdrawal of their candidacy.

Age Limit

Candidates applying for the subject posts must be between 18 and 25 years old as of 01/08/2024.

Note: The crucial date to determine the age limit shall be in accordance with DoP&T OM No. AB-14017/70/87-Estt. (RR) dated 14.07.1988:

• If the competitive or written examination is conducted in the first half of the year, the crucial date is the first day of January of the year in which the examination is held.
• If the competitive or written examination is conducted in the second half of the year, the crucial date is the first day of August of the year in which the examination is held.

BSF Recruitment 2024 Selection Process

The Computer Based Test (CBT) and Skill Test will be held in English and Hindi exclusively.

• Initially, the Physical Standard Test (PST) and Physical Efficiency Test (PET) will be administered.
• After the Computer Test, candidates who qualify and are shortlisted will take the Skill Test, Document Verification (DV), and Detailed Medical Test (DME)/Review Medical Test (RME).

BSF Recruitment 2024 Salary

The posts carry the following pay levels as per the 7th CPC:

• Assistant Sub Inspector (Stenographer/Combatant Stenographer) and Warrant Officer (Personal Assistant)
  • Pay Level: 05
  • Pay Matrix: ₹29,200 – ₹92,300
• Head Constable (Ministerial/Combatant Ministerial) and Havildar Clerk
  • Pay Level: 04
  • Pay Matrix: ₹25,500 – ₹81,100

BSF Recruitment 2024 Application Fee

• Fee: ₹100 (Rupees one hundred) only.
• Exemptions: Women candidates, candidates from Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), and ex-servicemen eligible for reservation are excused from paying the fee.
• Service Charges: All candidates, including those in exempted categories, must pay the applicable service charges.
• Payment modes: Fees can only be paid online using BHIM UPI, Net Banking, Visa, MasterCard, Maestro, RuPay Credit, or Debit Card.
• Payment Deadline: Candidates can pay the online fee till 11:59 PM on August 7, 2024.
