The Union Ministry of Ports, Shipping & Waterways has organised the National Lighthouse Festival.
The aim of the festival has been to transform 75 historic lighthouses into tourist sites with modern amenities, promote conservation, and boost local employment and the economy.

A unique tribal art exhibition has been held in New Delhi from 17-20 October 2024.
The exhibition has featured 49 tribal artists from 22 National Tiger Reserves across 10 states of India.
The exhibition, titled Silent Conversation: From Margins to the Centre, has been held for the second time.

The Indian Coast Guard has successfully conducted the 2nd edition of the coastal security exercise ‘Sagar Kavach’ on 16-17 October 2024.
The exercise has been held across Gujarat and the Union Territory of Daman & Diu coasts.
The 1st edition of ‘Sagar Kavach’ in 2024 has been held on 11-12 July 2024 along the Andhra Pradesh coast.
The 2nd edition has been coordinated by the Indian Coast Guard’s North West Regional Headquarters in Gandhinagar, Gujarat.
Multiple agencies responsible for coastal security, such as the State Police, Indian Navy, Marine Police, BSF, NSG, GMB, IB, and Port authorities, have participated in the exercise.
The Indian Coast Guard and Indian Navy have provided aerial surveillance during the exercise.
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh has virtually inaugurated the Prerna Sthal at Burdang, Sikkim.
The Prerna Sthal has been built in memory of 22 soldiers who lost their lives due to a flood caused by a lake outburst in October 2023.

The World Bank and Asian Development Bank have committed to fund $1,600 million (Rs 13,600 crore) for Amaravati capital city phase-I development.
The funding will start releasing from January next year.
