Indian Wushu players won seven medals at the 9th World Junior Wushu Championships 2024.
The championships took place in Bandar Seri Begawan, Brunei, from 22 to 30 September 2024.
The medals included two golds, one silver, and four bronze medals.
Aryan became the first Indian to win a gold medal in this championship.
Aryan won gold in the 48 kg boys junior category by defeating Gong Huanran from China.
Shaurya won the second gold medal by defeating Alireza Zaman of Iran in the boys’ 48 kg category.
Nang Mingbi Borphukan won the silver medal in the Taolu Jian Shu C Group event.
Bronze medals were earned by Tanish Nagar (56 kg), Abhijeet (60 kg), Divyanshi (60 kg women), and Yuvraj (42 kg).
The event was hosted by the International Wushu Federation (IWUF) and organized by the Wushu Federation of Brunei.

President Droupadi Murmu inaugurated the 8th Bhartiya Kala Mahotsav on 28 September 2024.
The event focuses on the North-Eastern states of India.
It will be open to the public from 29 September to 6 October 2024.

A 7,000 km-long car rally from Ladakh’s Thoise, one of the world’s highest altitude air force stations, to Tawang in Arunachal Pradesh will soon be held to mark the 92nd anniversary of the IAF.
The car rally is named ‘Vayu Veer Vijeta’.
The event marks the 92nd anniversary of the Indian Air Force (IAF).
The rally will take place from Thoise, Ladakh to Tawang, Arunachal Pradesh.
The total distance of the rally is 7,000 km.
The rally will be flagged off on October 8, 2024.
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh will send off the rally from the National War Memorial on October 1.
Thoise is located at an altitude of 3,068 m above mean sea level.
The rally will conclude in Tawang on October 29.
A total of 52 air warriors, including women, will participate in the rally.
The participants will have 16 halts and interact with students at various colleges and universities.

A new species of catfish named Exostomasentiyonoae has been discovered in the Dzuleke River in Nagaland, India.
The Dzuleke River is part of the Barak River system.
The discovery was published in the scientific journal Zootaxa by researchers BungdonShangningam from the Zoological Survey of India and Limatemjen from Kohima Science College.
The new catfish measures 75.8 mm in length and is cataloged as holotype ZSI FF 9871.
Unique characteristics include an adipose fin connected to upper caudal-fin rays, tubercles on the dorsal fin spine, a slender head, small eyes, and 41 vertebrae.
The species differs from E. effreni by having a wider head and deeper caudal peduncle, and from E. peregrinator by having a longer dorsal-adipose fin distance.
