New research has revealed 62 new moons that orbit Saturn, bringing the total number of natural satellites, Saturn officially counted to 145 In contrast, the number of Jupiter’s moons, 95, has been confirmed by the International Astronomical Union (IAU).
NASA’s upcoming Dragonfly mission, which is scheduled to launch in 2027 has the potential to allow for close-up observations of at least one of Saturn’s smaller outer moons.
