The 35th edition of India-Thailand Coordinated Patrol (Indo-Thai CORPAT) between the Indian Navy and the Royal Thai Navy was conducted from 03 – 10 May 2023.

Towards reinforcing maritime linkages between the two countries and with an aim of keeping this vital part of the Indian Ocean safe and secure for international trade, the Indian Navy and the Royal Thai Navy have been undertaking CORPAT bi-annually since 2005 along the International Maritime Boundary Line (IMBL).

The Asian Kabaddi Championship 2023 is scheduled to be held in Busan, South Korea from June 27 to 30.
The continental kabaddi event will be played after a hiatus of six years. The last edition was held in Gorgan, Iran in 2017.
Since the inaugural tournament in 1980, the championship has brought together teams from various Asian countries, including India, Pakistan, Iran and Bangladesh among others.
The Indian men’s kabaddi team is the most successful side in the history of the Asian Kabaddi Championship, winning seven gold medals from the eight editions. Iran won the title in the 2003 edition in Kangar, Malaysia.

Beware of ‘blue bugging’, Andhra Pradesh police cautions smartphone users
It is a form of hacking that lets the attackers access a device through its discoverable Bluetooth connection, listen to calls, read and send messages, and steal and modify contacts, says Prakasam Superintendent of Police Malika Garg.
Process: • Bluebugging attacks work by exploiting Bluetooth-enabled devices.
• The device’s Bluetooth must be in discoverable mode, which is the default setting on most devices.
• The hacker then tries to pair with the device via Bluetooth.
• Once a connection is established, hackers can use brute force attacks to bypass authentication.
• They can install the malware in the compromised device to gain unauthorised access to it

In Uttarakhand, a four-day millet festival (Shri Ann Mahotsav) will begin in Dehradun today to create public awareness about the health benefits of coarse grain and deliberate on the state’s potential to grow the crop in this category.
Agriculture Ministers, scientists and farmers of other States including Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Tomar will participate in Ann Mahotsav. The four-day deliberations are aimed at attracting more and more people towards millet production, which is to be doubled by 2025.
Uttarakhand’s Agriculture Minister Ganesh Joshi informed that there will be a discussion on the produce of millets in the festival.

Kerala has become the first state in the country to have a drone surveillance system in all police districts in the state.
Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan distributed the drones to all police districts and the drone pilot licences to the specially trained drone pilots, at a function held today.

He also launched indigenously developed anti-drone software on the occasion.
Kerala police had sent 25 police personnel to the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras, for specialized training, and another 20 were given basic drone operation training from the drone lab in Kerala.

A Nepali sherpa guide climbed Mount Everest for the 26th time on Sunday, hiking officials said, becoming the world’s second person to achieve the feat.

Pasang Dawa Sherpa, 46, stood atop the 8,849-m (29,032-ft) peak, sharing the record number of summits with Kami Rita Sherpa, said Bigyan Koirala, a government tourism official.

Kami Rita, who is also climbing Everest now, could set another record if he makes it to the top.

But now it will be Kerala’s first fully insured ward as 1,382 residents in the five to 70 age group will be eligible for insurance coverage against accidental death and disability.

An initiative of ward councillor G. Jayaprakash, the entire ward has insurance coverage of over ₹13.82 crores under a plan provided by United India Insurance, a public sector company.

Jharkhand’s first boat ambulance service is set to commence operations in Sahibganj district on May 15, according to an official statement on Saturday.
This initiative aims to extend healthcare services to over two lakh individuals residing in the Diara area, which is situated near the Ganga River.

The Ministry of corporate affairs (MCA) has set up the Centre for Processing Accelerated Corporate Exit (C-PACE) which is expected to provide timely and process-bound striking-off of companies from the MCA register from May 1.

“The establishment of the C-PACE will help to reduce the stress on the registry along with keeping the registry clean besides availability of more meaningful data to the stakeholders,” said an official statement on Saturday, adding that it will also benefit the stakeholders by providing a hassle-free filing, timely and process-bound removal of their company’s names from the register.
