The first-ever Global Robotics Summit in India will take place in Hyderabad at the HICC complex, Novotel on July 21 to 22 this year.
Participants from 25 nations will attend the two-day event to exhibit the most recent advancements in artificial intelligence and robotics.
The motive of the summit is to create a platform for industry pioneers, researchers and enthusiasts to exchange their creative ideas and knowledge on the future work of robotics.
There will be discussions, live sessions, and demonstrations of advanced technologies as part of the summit.

International Nurses Day is celebrated on May 12, every year to mark the contributions and hard work of nursing staff around the world.

Saudi Arabia has officially stopped issuing visa stickers and replaced them with e-visas in seven countries.
According to the Saudi Foreign Ministry, the decision to issue e-visas with QR codes came into effect in May 2023.
Countries that will benefit from this initiative include Jordan, United Arab Emirates (UAE), Egypt, India, Bangladesh, the Philippines, and Indonesia.
The move to introduce e-visas is aimed at digitizing the consular services by the Saudi Foreign Ministry and creating a new way to issue work, residency, and visit visas in the countries mentioned above.

The Public Enterprise Selection Board (PESB) has recommended the name of Parminder Chopra to succeed as the next CMD replacing (Ravinder Dhillon) of India’s largest NBFC by net worth (all reserves), Power Finance Corporation (PFC).
Chopra will be the first woman to be appointed as the Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) of the Maharatna company. Her name was recommended by the PESB on Monday.
She has been with the company since 2005 and has been serving as the Director (Finance) and CFO since 2020, as well as a member of the board of directors, said the non-banking financial company (NBFC) for the power sector.
Power Finance Corporation Ltd. is an Indian central public sector undertaking under the ownership of the Ministry of Power, Government of India.
Established in 1986, it is the financial backbone of the Indian power sector. PFC’s net worth as on 30 September 2018 is INR 383 billion.

Larsen & Toubro board has appointed S N Subrahmanyan as Chairman and MD, with effect from October 1, 2023.
He will succeed A M Naik, who steps down as Non-Executive Chairman of the L&T Group at the end of his tenure on 30 September 2023.
Currently, S N Subrahmanyan is serving as the CEO and MD of L&T.

To meet the larger vision of achieving the Zero Carbon Emission Goal, the Ministry of Ports, Shipping & Waterways has launched ‘Harit Sagar’ the Green Port Guidelines.
The guidelines were launched by Shri Sarbananda Sonowal, Union Minister for Ports, Shipping & Waterways and AYUSH in the August presence of Shri Shripad Y. Naik, Union Minister of State for Ports, Shipping & Waterways and Tourism and other senior officials of the Ministry today in New Delhi.

• Prime Minister Narendra Modi has inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for a variety of development projects worth over ₹5,500 crores in Rajasthan.
• Modi dedicates three key national highway projects to the country, including the 114 km (71 miles) six-lane Udaipur-Shamlaji section of NH-48, the 110 km Bar-Bilara-Jodhpur section of NH-25, and the 47 km NH 58E.
• These projects aim to enhance the region’s infrastructure and connectivity.
• The PM also lay the foundation stone for several road construction projects, including the two-lane upgrade in Rajsamand and Udaipur, and the gauge conversion project and new line development from Nathdwara to Nathdwara town in Rajsamand.

Punjab has become the first state in India to implement the ‘right to walk’ by making it mandatory for all road-owning agencies to provide footpaths and cycle tracks in all future expansions of roads and construction.
Reason: Every month more than 10 pedestrians/ bicycle riders are killed in road accidents due to encroachment on pedestrian footpaths.

Japan will invite some emerging nations to an outreach meeting at the Group of Seven advanced countries Japan chairs this month in the city of Niigata.
The countries whose finance leaders will be invited to attend the outreach meeting include India, Indonesia, South Korea, Singapore and Brazil, Suzuki said in a post-cabinet meeting news conference.
Japan is the chair of this year’s meeting of G7 advanced economies. The meeting of finance ministers and central bank governors is scheduled to be held in Niigata on May 11-13.

The 3rd Energy Transitions Working Group Meeting (ETWG) under India’s G20 Presidency will be held in Mumbai from May 15 to 17, 2023.
The three-day meeting will see over 100 delegates representing G20 member countries, special invitee countries and International Organisations such as International Energy Agency (IEA), Word Bank and World Energy Council India engaging in discussions and deliberation on Priority Areas.
The Meeting will be chaired by Shri Alok Kumar, ETWG Chair and Secretary, Ministry of Power, Govt. of India.
Shri Bhupinder Singh Bhalla, Secretary, Ministry of New and Renewable Energy; Shri Vivek Bharadwaj, Secretary, Ministry of Mines; and Shri Amrit Lal Meena, Secretary, Ministry of Coal, will also be part of the Meeting and deliberations.

The International Day of Plant Health (I.D.P.H.) is an annual celebration held on May 12 to raise awareness about protecting plant health to improve food security, distribution, and consumption.
