South Africa

Earlier, Fitch Rating lowered India’s GDP growth rate for FY24 to 6.7% from 7.4% it forecast earlier. But now, the changes are in line with a cut in the global economic forecast for the current year by Fitch to 6%.

The Asian Development Bank (ADB) projects growth in India’s gross domestic product (GDP) to moderate to 6.4% in fiscal year (FY) 2023 ending on 31 March 2024 and rise to 6.7% in FY2024.

India has extended a $1 billion credit line for Sri Lanka by one year, a Sri Lankan official told Reuters on Tuesday, giving the crisis-hit country a backup infusion of dollars for essential imports.
