The PV Narasimha Rao Memorial Award, named after the former Prime Minister of India, acknowledges individuals who have demonstrated exceptional dedication to social welfare and humanitarian causes.
Ratan Tata has donated more than half of his income to charity and has made generous contributions at both individual and organizational levels, including through Tata Trusts.
In addition to the PV Narasimha Rao Memorial Award, Ratan Tata has received two of India’s highest civilian honors, the Padma Vibhushan in 2008 and the Padma Bhushan in 2000, for his immense contributions to the country.

Home Minister Amit Shah Inaugurated a digital CCMS developed by the National Investigation Agency (NIA).
This system is designed to enhance coordination among NIA personnel in terrorism and organized crime cases, ultimately improving the delivery of justice.
He also launched a mobile app called ‘Sankalan’, developed by the National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB).

Union Minister for Petroleum & Natural Gas, Hardeep Singh Puri has launched ETHANOL 100, a new automotive fuel, at IndianOil Outlet.
It is now available in Maharashtra, Karnataka, UP, Delhi, and Tamil Nadu.
ETHANOL 100 has been expected to decrease reliance on fossil fuels, marking a significant step towards sustainable and eco-friendly transportation.
The Ethanol Blending Program is an initiative by the Government of India to promote the use of ethanol, a renewable and environment-friendly fuel, in petrol.
The program aims to reduce the import of fuels from other countries, conserve foreign exchange, and increase value addition in the sugar industry.

The renaming is in honor of the 18th-century Maratha queen Ahilyabai Holkar.
The proposal to rename Ahmednagar was first announced by Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde in May 2023, on the 298th birth anniversary of Ahilyabai Holkar.

Adani Green Energy announced the operationalization of an additional 126 MW capacity in its 300 MW wind power project in Gujarat.
This comes after the earlier operationalization of 174 MW, marking a significant milestone for the company.
Adani Wind Energy Kutchh Four Limited (AWEK4L), a subsidiary of Adani Green Energy Limited (AGEL), has successfully operationalized 126 MW of wind power in Gujarat.
Together with the previously operationalized 174 MW, the project now boasts a total capacity of 300 MW.
With a current operating renewable portfolio exceeding 9.5 GW spread across 12 states, AGEL maintains its status as the largest renewable energy player in India.

The Chameli Devi Jain Award for Outstanding Woman Media Person of the Year was set up by The Media Foundation in 1980.
It is named after Chameli Devi Jain, a freedom fighter and community reformer who was imprisoned during India’s independence movement.
The first award was given in 1982, and since then, it has been presented annually.
The award recognizes impactful journalism in fields such as social development, politics, gender justice, human rights, health, conflict, and consumer values.

Admiral Laxminarayan Ramdas, former Indian Navy chief, passed away.
He passed away in the Military Hospital in Secunderabad following old age issues and is survived by his wife Lalita Ramdas and their daughters
He had played a heroic role during the 1971 Indo-Pakistan War.
He was Chief of Naval Staff for three years from December 1, 1990, to September 30, 1993.
Post-retirement he emerged as a leading peace activist and took up the cause of nuclear disarmament.
