A contingent of the Indian Army has departed for Mongolia to participate in the multinational military exercise KHAAN QUEST.
The 21st multinational KHAAN QUEST exercise will be held in the Mongolian capital of Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, from 27 July to 9 August 2024.
Khaan QUEST is an annual multinational military exercise co-sponsored by the U.S. Indo-Pacific Command and hosted annually by the Mongolian Armed Forces.
When the military exercise started in 2003, it was a bilateral military exercise between the United States of American armed forces and the Mongolian defense forces.
However, from 2008 onwards, friendly countries were also invited to participate in military exercises, and it became a multilateral exercise.

India’s rank on the Henley Passport Index improved by two places to 82, according to the recently released 2024 Henley Passport Index.
Singapore displaced Japan to become the world’s most powerful passport, while Pakistan remained the fourth-worst-ranked country for the fourth consecutive year.
The Henley Passport Index is released by the United Kingdom-based Henley and Partners firm.
Last year, the Indian passport was ranked 84th in the world. This year, the Indian passport rank has improved by two places to 82nd.
At present, an Indian passport holder can travel to 58 countries without the requirement of any visa.
Afghanistan’s passport is ranked at the bottom, at 103, in the 2024 Henley Passport Index.
Pakistan’s Passport has been ranked the fourth worst passport in the world for the fourth consecutive year.

The Research published in Nature Geoscience has uncovered the production of a novel form of oxygen, dubbed “dark oxygen,” on the deep-ocean floor.
Findings that were constant over a decade showed that oxygen levels below 4,000 meters (13,000 feet) were steadily rising.
It was believed that oxygen on Earth was primarily generated by photosynthetic organisms like plants and algae.
