BJP State President Daggubati Purandeswari stated in a press release that President Droupadi Murmu will release a ₹100 commemorative coin featuring her father and legendary actor N.T. Rama Rao at Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi on August 28.
She said the coin has been brought out by the Indian Government Mint at Hyderabad on the Central government’s instructions in honour of NTR on the occasion of his birth centenary.

The government said Standing Committee on Economic Statistics has been renamed as Standing Committee on Statistics.

A first-of-its-kind global summit on Traditional Medicine, organised by the World Health Organization (WHO) and co-hosted by the Ministry of Ayush, is set to take place on August 17-18, 2023, at Gandhinagar, Gujarat.

▪ Agri solutions provider Coromandel International’s subsidiary and drone manufacturer Dhaksha Unmanned Systems announced it has secured a supply order for 200 medium-altitude logistics drones and accessories from the Indian Army.
▪ This order comes on the back of a recent contract for the supply of 400 agri-spraying drones from IFFCO, Dhaksha Unmanned Systems (DUS) said.

Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) Science & Technology Dr Jitendra Singh recently launched India’s first indigenously developed, affordable, lightweight, ultrafast, high field (1.5 Tesla), next-generation Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) scanner in New Delhi.
Dr Jitendra Singh said that it is indeed a milestone achievement for the National Biopharma Mission (NBM), Biotechnology Industry Research Assistance Council (BIRAC) and Department of Biotechnology (DBT) as we unveil the first indigenously developed state-of-the-art MRI Scanner under Public-Private Partnership mode.
Under the National Biopharma Mission, Bengaluru-based startup Voxelgrids Innovations Pvt Ltd has developed a compact, lightweight, next-generation MRI Scanner to solve the unmet need of the country.
The Minister underlined that out of Rs 17 crore spent on developing the world-class MRI scanner, Rs 12 Crore was provided by DBT through BIRAC.

India’s Line of Credit (LOC) spending on various projects in Nepal has crossed the $1.65 billion mark.
The figure was released on Friday during the 10th India-Nepal LOC Review Meeting held in Kathmandu.
The government of India’s LOC portfolio is more than $30 billion and is spread across more than 60 partner countries, said a statement issued by the Embassy of India in Kathmandu.
In Nepal, it includes four LOCs: $100 million, $250 million, $550 million and 750 million, totalling $1.65 billion.

Vegetables, spices, and cereals among other items pushed retail inflation based on Consumer Price Index (CPI) to a 14-month high of 7.4 per cent in July. However, despite higher prices of primary products such as agri produce, producers’ inflation based on the Wholesale Price Index (WPI) remained in the negative zone at (-) 1.36 per cent in the same month.

The Chief Magistrate’s Court in Colombo banned former Sri Lanka cricketer Sachithra Senanayake from travelling overseas after a probe was launched against him on charges of match-fixing.
Senanayake (38), who played one Test, 49 ODIs and 24 T20 Internationals for the island nation between 2012 and 2016, has been accused of trying to fix matches during the Lanka Premier League (LPL) in 2020.
The court prevented Senanayake from leaving the country for three months following the Attorney General’s (AG) directions to the Sports Ministry’s Special Investigation Unit (SIU) to press criminal charges against the former off-spinner.

Tokyo Olympian and 2021 Asian Championships bronze medallist wrestler Seema Bisla has been handed a one-year ban by the Anti-Doping Disciplinary Panel (ADDP) of the NADA for “whereabouts failure”.
The ADDP passed the order of banning the 30-year-old Seema on July 21.
Her ban period began on May 12 this year, according to the latest list of athletes sanctioned by the ADDP, put up by the National Anti-Doping Agency (NADA) on its website.
Seema had won a bronze in women’s freestyle 50kg class in the 2021 Asian Championships in Almaty, Kazakhstan. She lost in the 50kg round of 16 bouts in the Tokyo Olympics in 2021.

Mauganj became the 53rd district of Madhya Pradesh on Sunday. The new district was carved out of the existing Rewa district.

As per the orders issued by the government, three tehsils of Rewa district including Mauganj, Hanumana and Naigadhi will now become a part of the new Mauganj district. After this, Rewa district which earlier had 12 tehsils, will only have 9 tehsils now including Huzur, Huzur Nagar, Jawa, Teonthar, Raipur Karchulian, Gurh, Sirmaur, Simariya and Mangawan tehsils.
After the orders were issued in the name of the MP governor, an official gazette was also published leading to the formation of the new district. Mauganj will be the new headquarter of the district.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone of the Sant Shiromani Gurudev Shri Ravidas ji Memorial which will be constructed in more than ₹100 crores at Badtuma village of Sagar district in Madhya Pradesh.

The temple will be built in Nagar style in 10,000 square feet and a museum will also be built to display the work and personality of Sant Ravidas. Four galleries, a library, Sangat Hall, Jal Kund and a Bhakt Niwas will also be there.
