Adani Total Energies Biomass Limited (ATBL), has commissioned the first phase of its Barsana BioGas plant in Shre Mataji Gaushala, Mathura, Uttar Pradesh.
ATBL is a wholly owned subsidiary of Adani Total Gas Limited (ATGL).
Adani Total Gas Limited is a joint venture between Adani Group and Total Energies of France.
The Barsana Biogas Project, which is being developed in three phases, will have a total capacity of 600 tonnes per day of feedstock.
After its completion, the project is expected to generate 42 tonnes per day of Compressed Biogas (CBG) and 217 tonnes per day of organic fertilizer.
According to the company, the plant will contribute to circular economy principles and agricultural sustainability.

Austria vetoed Romania and Bulgaria’s entry into the Schengen area at the end of 2022 but allowed Croatia full entry. Bulgaria and Romania joined the EU in 2007, and Croatia in 2013.
Today, the Schengen Area includes most EU countries except Cyprus and Ireland.
Bulgaria and Romania became the newest member states to join the Schengen area as of 31 March 2024, and anyone crossing internal air and sea borders will no longer be screened.

The Indian and Nepalese Sanskrit scholars have agreed to work jointly to promote research and education of the Sanskrit language.
This was decided at the end of the three-day Nepal-India International Sanskrit Conclave organized in the Nepalese capital, Kathmandu.
The Niti Anusandhan Pratisthan, Nepal, organized the three-day conclave in collaboration with the Central Sanskrit University, Delhi, and India Foundation, Delhi.
Over 120 Sanskrit scholars, professors, and government officials from both neighboring countries participated in the conference.
The prime objective of the international conference was to strengthen the Nepal-Indian relations and promote Sanskrit education in Nepal and India.

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is hosting the 20th D P Kohli Memorial Lecture to commemorate the Raising Day of the Investigation Agency.
Chief Justice of India, Justice D Y Chandrachud, delivered the lecture on the theme of “Adopting Technology to Advance Criminal Justice” at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi.
This annual event is held in honor of the late Dharamnath Prasad Kohli, the founder and Director of CBI, who served the Police Service from 1931 onwards.
Kohli headed the Delhi Special Police Establishment DSPE in 1955 to curb corruption in public services.
He continued as the Director of CBI from its inception in 1963 until 1968.
Prior to 2014, the appointment of the CBI Director was based on the provisions of the DSPE Act, of 1946.
However, in 2003, the DSPE Act was revised following the Vineet Narain case, as recommended by the Supreme Court.

Salima Tete and Hardik Singh were named the women’s and men’s player of the year, respectively.

Hardik Singh of Punjab, currently the Indian Hockey men’s team vice-captain, was part of the bronze-medal-winning Indian team at the Tokyo Olympics 2023 and the gold-medal-winning 2023 Hangzhou Asian team.
Hardik Singh, winner of the FIH Player of the Year at the Star Awards 2023, was also awarded the Hockey India’s Best Midfielder of the Year award.

She was also honored with the Asian Hockey Federation’s Emerging Player of the Year Award in 2023.
