The package includes free food packets every month to poor families, LPG cylinders for Rs 500 under the Ujjwala Scheme and free electricity up to 100 units per month to domestic consumers.

Benjamin Ferencz, the last surviving prosecutor from the Nuremberg trials in Germany that brought Nazi war criminals to justice after World War Two and a longtime apostle of international criminal law, died on Friday at age 103 in Washington (USA) citing his son.
Ferencz, a Harvard-educated lawyer, secured convictions of numerous German officers who led roving death squads during the war. The circumstances of his death were not immediately disclosed. The New York Times reported that Ferencz died at an assisted living facility in Boynton Beach, Florida.
He was just 27 years old when he served as a prosecutor in 1947 at Nuremberg.

The recently released report on the census of tigers in the country states that Suhelwa Wildlife Sanctuary is a new area where photographic evidence of tigers has been recorded for the first time.

Domestic private sector lender IndusInd Bank on Tuesday said that Japanese lender JICA has teamed with Citibank to provide a $125 million funding line to it.
The private lender said that it will utilise the co-finance funding for lending to the agricultural sector, in a statement issued on Tuesday.

The funding includes a JPY 13 billion (approx $97.45 million) loan from the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and another $30 million from Citi to Indusind.

Indian wrestler Nisha Dahiya won her career’s first major medal at the senior level as she bagged silver in the women’s 68kg category at the Asian Wrestling Championships in Kazakhstan on Tuesday.

Union Minister of Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari today inaugurated Peerah-Kunfer Tunnel at Ramban.
The Union Minister said four more tunnels on the Ramban-Banihal stretch of the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway will be completed by next March He said with these tunnels the distance between Jammu-Srinagar will be completed in about 3.5 hours.
The 924 meters long Tube 1 of the Peeda-Kunfer Tunnel would bypass a 2.9 km congested, zigzag, and accident-prone area between Nashri and Ramban.
The tunnel is a part of the ongoing four-lane project of the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) between Udhampur and Ramban on the Jammu and Srinagar National Highway.

After a gap of 15 years, Chennai is set to host the Asian Hockey Men’s Championship this year, Minister for Youth Welfare and Sports Development Udhayanidhi Stalin said in the Assembly on Tuesday. The State government would extend financial assistance for hosting the international hockey event, he said.
Mr Udhayanidhi also said funds to the tune of ₹1.5 crore would be allocated for hosting the 2023 Chennai Squash World Cup.
