The Indian men’s hockey team, led by Harmanpreet Singh, defeated China 1-0 in the final to win the Men’s Asian Hockey Champions Trophy for a record fifth time.

The final match took place on 17 September 2024 at the Moqi Hockey Training Base, Hulunbuir City, China.

India had previously won the trophy in 2011, 2016, 2018, and 2023.

In the semi-final, India won 4-1 against South Korea.

The team coach was Craig Fulton.

Pakistan secured 3rd place by defeating South Korea 5-2 in the play-off match.

The Yerevan Dialogue is a 1.5-day event organized by the Armenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Observer Research Foundation (ORF), involving both government and non-government officials.

He met Armenian Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ararat Mirzoyan to discuss bilateral issues.

He planted a sapling in front of the Mahatma Gandhi statue in Buenos Aires Park, Yerevan, as part of the Ek Ped Maa ke Naam campaign.

Nirmala Sitharaman launched the NPS Vatsalya scheme for minors in New Delhi on 17 September 2024.

The launch event was held simultaneously in 75 locations across India.

The scheme is regulated by the Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority (PFRDA).

NPS Vatsalya is for minors under 18 years of age who are residents of India; it is not available for NRIs.

An NPS Tier-II account is opened in the minor’s name.

Minimum contribution is Rs 1000 per year; there is no maximum limit.

Parents can contribute on behalf of the minor.

The lock-in period is three years, with partial withdrawals allowed for education, illness, or disability up to three times.

Upon turning 18, subscribers can shift to an NPS Tier-I account.

The return on investments is not guaranteed and depends on market performance, managed by a Pension Fund Manager approved by PFRDA.

RE-INVEST 2024 aims to strengthen India’s position as a global leader in renewable energy.

India ranks fourth in the world for Renewable Energy Installed Capacity, fourth in Wind Power capacity, and fifth in Solar Power capacity according to the REN21 Renewables 2024 Global Status Report.

This is the first time the Global Renewable Energy Investors Meet & Expo is being held outside New Delhi.

Previous editions were held in New Delhi (February 2015), Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh (October 2018), and virtually (November 2020).

INSV Tarini is historically significant for its first all-women crew circumnavigation in 2017.
