About the Indian Air Force
The Indian Air Force (IAF) is the aerial branch of the Indian Armed Forces, tasked with safeguarding Indian airspace and conducting aerial warfare during armed conflicts. It was formally established on October 8, 1932, as an auxiliary air force of the British Empire, known as the Royal Indian Air Force in recognition of India’s aviation contributions during World War II. After India gained independence from the United Kingdom in 1947, the name Royal Indian Air Force persisted until the country became a republic in 1950, when the “Royal” prefix was dropped.

(i) 12th pass from a recognized Board.
(ii) Skill test norms on computer

Indian Air Force Recruitment 2024 Selection Processs
- All applications will be scrutinized in terms of age limits, minimum qualifications, documents, and certificates.
- Thereafter, eligible candidates will be issued call letters for written tests.
- The eligible candidates will be required to appear for a written test.
- The written test will be based on minimum education qualification.
- The question cum answer paper will be in English and Hindi.
- The requisite number of candidates will be shortlisted and called for skill / practical tests wherever applicable based on merit/category in the written test.
- The marking system will be as follows: (i) Written Test- 100% (weightage) and (ii) Skill / Practical Test -Qualifying only
- Shortlisted candidates are to bring original certificates and copies of the annexure attached with the application.

Indian Air Force Recruitment 2024 How to apply?
Documents: Submit self-attested copies of educational, technical, age, and caste certificates. For OBC candidates, include a certificate proving non-inclusion in the creamy layer.
Ex-Servicemen: Include a self-attested copy of the discharge book.
Application: Type the form in English/Hindi with a self-attested passport-size photo. Include a self-addressed envelope with a ₹10 stamp. Clearly label the envelope with “APPLICATION FOR THE POST OF [POST] AND CATEGORY [CATEGORY].”
