North-Eastern Space Applications Centre was set up with a joint initiative of the Department of Space and North Eastern Council in September 2000 at Shillong in Meghalaya, India. The center has been declared a protected area by the state government.

NESAC Recruitment 2024 AGE LIMIT
- For Research Scientist: Maximum age 35 years as on date of Interview.
- For Junior Research Fellow: Maximum age 28 years as on date of Interview
NESAC Recruitment 2024 Selection Process
Walk-in interviews are held by NESAC at its Umiam location on prearranged dates for open vacancies. Applicants must meet the requirements and provide relevant experience to be considered for positions as Junior Research Fellows and Research Scientists. Selection will be made based on interview performance and compliance with requirements.
NESAC Recruitment 2024 Salary
Pay & Allowances for Research Scientist:
Selected candidates will receive a minimum salary of approximately ₹56,100 in Level 10 of the Pay Matrix. Additional benefits include Dearness Allowance (DA), House Rent Allowance (HRA), and medical benefits for the candidate only, as per applicable rules.
Pay & Allowances for Junior Research Fellow:
The fellowship amount is ₹37,000. Along with this, candidates will receive HRA at the applicable rates for the posting location or the amount sanctioned under the respective project, whichever is lower. Medical benefits for the candidate only will be provided according to current regulations. The fellowship amount is considered the Basic Pay for these purposes.
Tenure
Positional Tenure:
Scientist for Research: The post is temporary for one year, with the possibility of a three-year extension contingent on performance during periodic reviews or the project’s co-terminus, whichever comes first. The regularization clause is absent.
Junior Research Fellow: This is a contract role that runs concurrently with the project. The first engagement lasts for a year and can be extended for up to five years, or the duration of the project, whichever is shorter, depending on performance.
There are no job rights associated with either post at NESAC. Services could be discontinued at any time and for any cause. Without providing a reason for an appeal, the Director of NESAC retains the authority to revoke contracts before the end of their term or project and to postpone or cancel interviews.
NESAC Recruitment 2024 Application Process
Interested and eligible candidates must attend the interview at the venue with their Biodata (in the prescribed format) and all relevant original documents, along with self-attested photocopies. Those currently employed in Central/State Government, Public Sector Undertakings, or Autonomous Bodies must also present a “No Objection Certificate” in original. Failure to provide any required documents or if any information in the Biodata is found to be incorrect will result in disqualification from the interview.
