The Railway Recruitment Cell (RRC) of Central Railway has announced vacancies for 2,424 positions, with the official notice due on July 15, 2024. Interested and qualified applicants can apply online using the URL provided below. The application process is online, and it is encouraged that you apply before the deadline of August 15, 2024, as applications have been open since July 16, 2024.

RRC CR Recruitment 2024 Eligibility Criteria

Age Limit:

• General Requirement: Candidates must be between 15 and 24 years old as of 15-07-2024.
• Age Relaxation:
  • SC/ST: 5 years (DOB range: 15/07/1995 to 15/07/2009)
  • OBC: 3 years (DOB range: 15/07/1997 to 15/07/2009)
  • Persons with Disability: 10 years
  • Ex-servicemen: Additional 10 years plus the duration of service in Defence Forces (minimum 6 months) + 3 years.

Community and Reservation:

• Caste Certificate Requirement:
  • SC/ST candidates must upload a caste certificate in the Central Government format.
  • OBC candidates must upload a caste certificate and a Non-Creamy Layer Certificate issued on or after 01/04/2023.
• Ex-servicemen Reservation:
  • Candidates must upload a discharge certificate.
  • Children of ex-servicemen and Armed Forces Personnel must upload the appropriate certificate (e.g., discharge or serving certificate).

Ex-Servicemen:

• Category Placement: Selected ex-servicemen will be placed in the relevant category (UR/SC/ST/OBC) they belong to.
• Priority:
  • Children of deceased/disabled ex-servicemen (including peace-time casualties)
  • Children of ex-servicemen
  • Children of serving jawans/officers
  • Ex-servicemen

Educational Qualification:

• Requirement: Candidates must have passed the 10th class (or equivalent under the 10+2 system) with at least 50% aggregate marks.
• Certification: Must possess a National Trade Certificate in the notified trade issued by NCVT or a Provisional Certificate from NCVT/SCVT.

RRC CR Recruitment 2024 Mode of Selection

1. Merit List: Selection is based on a merit list calculated from the average percentage of marks in matriculation (minimum 50% aggregate) and ITI marks in the relevant trade.
2. Percentage Calculation:
   • For matriculation, all subjects’ marks are considered.
   • For ITI, average marks from all semesters or the Provisional National Trade Certificate are used.
3. Special Considerations: For some boards like Andhra Pradesh and Kerala, the midpoint of grade ranges is used for percentage calculation due to the lack of a standard method.
4. Tie-breaking: Older candidates are preferred. If ages are the same, the candidate who passed matriculation earlier is considered first.
5. Final List: Prepared by cluster/unit, trade, and community, based on the descending order of percentage marks.
6. Verification: Candidates must verify original documents and provide a medical certificate as required.

RRC CR Recruitment 2024 Training Period & Stipend

• Stipend: Rs. 7,000 per month for National or State Certificate holders.
• Increment:
  • 10% increase in the second year of apprenticeship training.
  • 15% increase in the third year of apprenticeship training.
• Training Credit: Previous training periods in recognized institutions count towards determining the minimum stipend rate.
• Accommodation: No hostel accommodation is provided; candidates must arrange their housing during training as per the Apprentice Act 1961.

RRC CR Recruitment 2024 Application Fee

• Application Fee: Rs. 100 (non-refundable).
• Payment Method: Online via www.rrccr.com using debit/credit card, Internet Banking, or SBI Challan.
• Process: Complete the application, proceed to the SBI payment gateway, and return to download the application form.
• Issues: Use “Verify Payment” if payment is deducted but the form is not downloadable.
• Receipt: Print and keep the e-receipt after successful payment.
• Fee Exemption: SC/ST/PWD/Women candidates do not need to pay the fee.

• Log in and fill out personal details and bio-data carefully.
• Enter your 12-digit Aadhaar number at registration. If not yet received, use the 28-digit Aadhaar Enrolment ID.
• Use other valid IDs if from Jammu and Kashmir, Meghalaya, or Assam.
• Present original Aadhaar card or valid ID at document verification.
• Ensure your name, father’s name, and date of birth match your Matriculation certificate.
• Use an active mobile number and email ID for receiving important messages.
• Choose one cluster and prioritize units within it.
• Avoid submitting multiple applications with different details; they will be rejected.
• Keep a printout of the online application for document verification.
