About SETS

Secure Electronic Transaction (SET) was a protocol standard aimed at securing credit card transactions over the Internet. It provided a framework using digital certificates and digital signatures to ensure the security, privacy, and confidentiality of financial transactions. SET was supported by major entities like Mastercard, Visa, Microsoft, Netscape, and others. Despite its robust security features, SET did not gain widespread adoption in the market. Visa now promotes the 3-D Secure scheme as a modern alternative for securing online credit card transactions.

SETS Recruitment 2024

The Society for Electronic Transactions and Security (SETS) has posted job openings for Project Associate (Software/Embedded System). There are six opportunities for these positions and individuals with B.E/B.Tech/M.E/M.Tech/MS/PhD degrees are eligible to apply. SETS Recruitment 2024 Eligibility Criteria

Project Associate (Software)

Qualifications:

• First Class in B.E/B.Tech in ECE/CSE/IT.

Desirable Qualifications:

• First Class in M.Tech/M.E/MS by Research (Computer Science/Information Technology/Information Security/Cybersecurity).

Areas of Skill Sets/Knowledge Required:

• Experience with programming and scripting languages: C, C++, Java, JavaScript, Python, Rust.
• Basic knowledge of Django/Flask frameworks.
• Knowledge of PyQT framework.
• Basic knowledge of networking protocols: TCP, IP, UDP, SSL/TLS.
• Familiarity with the Linux operating system (Debian/Ubuntu).
• Basic understanding of Cryptography and PKI ecosystem – CA, OCSP, CRL.

Experience:

• 0-4 years of relevant experience.
• Equivalent work experience can be substituted for a higher degree (Engineering Master: Two years).

Age Limit

• Not more than 35 years as of 14.06.2024

Project Associate (Embedded System)

Qualifications:

• First Class in B.E/B.Tech in ECE/EEE/EIE.

Desirable Qualifications:

• First Class in M.Tech/M.E/MS by Research (Embedded Systems/Communication Systems/Electronic Engineering/Computer Science/Cybersecurity).

Areas of Skill Sets/Knowledge Required:

• Programming experience in C, C++, embedded C, Python, Rust.
• Good knowledge of serial interfaces like SPI, I2C, UART, and USB interfaces like HID, CCID, etc.
• Knowledge of PCB layout design and fabrication.
• Familiarity with micro-controller boards such as Arduino Due, ESP32, ESP8266, STM32, RP2040 PICO, nRF52840, etc.
• Knowledge of SDKs/IDEs like ESP-IDF, PICO-SDK, OpenSK, Arduino, etc.
• Basic understanding of Cryptography.

Experience:

• 0-4 years of relevant experience.
• Equivalent work experience can be substituted for a higher degree (Engineering Master: Two years).

Age Limit: Not more than 35 years as of June 14, 2024.

SETS Recruitment 2024 Salary

The remuneration details are as follows:

• Consolidated Salary: Rs. 30,000 – Rs. 50,000/- per month.
• Additional increment based on the skill sets and relevant experience of the candidate.
• Performance-based increments of 5-8% may be considered after the first year.

SETS Recruitment 2024 Selection Process

1. Nature of Position: The positions of Project Associates are purely temporary and will be filled on a contract basis.
2. Salary: The salary will be consolidated under project mode.
3. Duration: Initially, the assignment is for one year.
4. Extension: Extension of the assignment will depend on the project’s needs and the candidate’s performance.
5. No Continuation/Regularization: There is no scope for continuation, regularization, or absorption under any circumstances.

Shortlisted candidates will be required to attend a Written Test and/or Interview at SETS, Chennai.

Date and time details for the Written Test and/or Interview will be communicated to shortlisted candidates via email.
