Indian Institute of Technology Ropar Recruitment 2024

The Indian Institute of Technology Ropar is seeking applications from eligible candidates for the positions of Junior Research Fellow/Project Assistant. Indian Institute of Technology Ropar Recruitment 2024

Position 1: Junior Research Fellow (JRF)

Eligibility:

  • Candidates must hold an M.E./M.Tech degree in Computer Science and Engineering (CSE), Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE), Information Technology (IT), or Artificial Intelligence (AI) with a minimum aggregate of 70% (or 7.5 CGPA).
  • Alternatively, candidates with a B.E/B. Tech degree in CSE/ECE/IT with a minimum aggregate of 70% (or 7.5 CGPA) are eligible if they have qualified in national level exams such as GATE, CSIR, UGC-NET, DST-INSPIRE, JEST, NBHM, or equivalent.
  • MCA/MSc in Computer Science/Mathematics or equivalent will be considered equivalent to a BTech degree.
  • SC/ST candidates must have secured a minimum aggregate score of 55% (or 6.0 CGPA) in the qualifying degree.

Position 2: Project Assistant

Eligibility:

  • Candidates must possess a B.E/B.Tech degree in Computer Science and Engineering (CSE), Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE), Information Technology (IT), or Artificial Intelligence (AI) with a minimum aggregate of 70% (or 7.5 CGPA).
  • MCA/MSc in Computer Science/Mathematics or equivalent will be considered equivalent to a BTech degree.
  • SC/ST candidates must have secured a minimum aggregate score of 55% (or 6.0 CGPA) in the qualifying degree.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • Strong knowledge in fundamental computer science and mathematics subjects such as data structures and algorithms, linear algebra, and probability.
  • Preferably, some hands-on experience with programming.
  • Desirable attributes include knowledge and a keen interest in deep learning, image processing, and Python programming.
  • Motivated to publish research findings in reputable journals/conferences.

Ph.D. Opportunity:

  • Candidates who have applied for the Ph.D. program in Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) at IIT Ropar can also apply for the Junior Research Fellow (JRF) position and will be considered for both roles.

Indian Institute of Technology Ropar Recruitment  Salary & Duration

The fellowship offered for the positions is as follows:

  • For the Junior Research Fellow (JRF) position: Rs. 37,000 per month (as per norms).
  • For the Project Assistant position: Rs. 20,000 per month (as per norms).

Duration:

  • The initial appointment will be for one year, with the possibility of extension based on performance and as per institutional norms.
