About Indian Army

Indian Army has opened recruitment for TGC 140, commencing in January 2025. The notification provides details on eligibility, vacancies, and application procedures. Indian Army (TGC-140) Recruitment 2024 Eligibility Criteria

Education Qualification

• Candidates who have completed the requisite Engineering Degree course or are in their final year of Engineering Degree are eligible to apply.
• Final year candidates must be able to provide proof of passing the Engineering Degree Examination along with mark sheets of all semesters/years by 01 Jan 2025.
• Final-year candidates must produce the Engineering Degree Certificate within 12 weeks from the commencement of training at the Indian Military Academy (IMA).
• Candidates failing to produce the required degree certificate will be inducted on an Additional Bond Basis for recovery of training costs and stipend paid.
• They will be required to reimburse the training costs and stipend if they fail to produce the requisite degree certificate.

Age Limit

• Candidates must be between 20 to 27 years of age as of 01 Jan 2025.
• Candidates born between 02 Jan 1998 and 01 Jan 2005 (both dates inclusive) are eligible to apply.

Nationality

• A candidate must be (i) A citizen of India, (ii) A subject of Nepal, (iii) A person of Indian origin who has migrated from specified countries to permanently settle in India.
• Candidates belonging to categories (ii) and (iii) above must have a certificate of eligibility issued by the Government of India, except for Gorkha subjects of Nepal. If a certificate of eligibility is required, candidates must attach it along with the application.

The selection process for TGC-140 includes:

• Shortlisting based on cutoff marks.
• Centre allotment and SSB date selection.
• SSB interview at designated centers.
• Two-stage selection procedure.
• Joining Letter issuance based on merit and medical fitness.

Indian Army (TGC-140) Recruitment 2024 Training Period

(a) Selected candidates will undergo training at the Indian Military Academy, Dehradun based on their merit position in the engineering stream and the availability of vacancies while meeting all eligibility criteria.
(b) The duration of training is approximately 12 months.
(c) During training, candidates are prohibited from marrying or living with parents/guardians. Marrying during training will result in discharge and reimbursement of training expenses to the government. Candidates marrying after application submission will be disqualified.
(d) The entire cost of training at the Indian Military Academy is covered by the government. Withdrawal from training for reasons other than medical grounds or beyond the candidate’s control will result in the candidate reimbursing the training costs, as per government regulations.

• Lieutenant General HAG Scale: Level 15, ₹1,82,200 – ₹2,24,100
