Noted Hindi writer Pushpa Bharati’s 2016 memoir, Yaadein, Yaadein aur Yaadein, has been selected for the 33rd Vyas Samman, 2023.
Born in Moradabad of Uttar Pradesh in 1935, Bharati did her MA in Hindi literature from Prayag University in 1955.
Besides the Vyas Samman, the KK Birla Foundation has also instituted Saraswati Samman and Bihari Puraskar.
The Saraswati Samman, which carries a cash prize of Rs 15 lakh, is given to an outstanding literary work by an Indian citizen in any of the languages included in Schedule VIII to the Constitution of India and published during a period of 10 years.
The Bihari Puraskar carries a cash prize of Rs 2.5 lakh and is meant for Hindi/Rajasthani writers of Rajasthan.

Kabir Bedi is an Indian actor. His career has spanned three continents covering India, the United States, and especially Italy among other European countries.
The Order of Merit of the Italian Republic (Italian: Ordine al Merito della Repubblica Italiana) is the most senior Italian order of merit.
It was established in 1951 by the second President of the Italian Republic, Luigi Einaudi.

Myanmar has surpassed Afghanistan to become world’s largest source of opium in 2023 after a third consecutive year of expanding cultivation fueled by the country’s civil war.
After the Taliban imposed a ban on drugs in 2022, opium cultivation in Afghanistan decreased by 95%, leading to a global shift in the opium supply to Myanmar.
The opium poppy can be cultivated only in such tracts as are notified by the Government.
At present these tracts are confined to three States,viz Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh.
Mandsaur district of Madhya Pradesh and Chittorgarh and Jhalawar Districts of Rajasthan constitute about 80% of the total area.
