About DOT

The Department of Telecommunications, abbreviated to DoT, is a department of the Ministry of Communications of the executive branch of the Government of India. Telecom services have been recognized the world over as an important tool for the socioeconomic development of a nation and hence telecom infrastructure is treated as a crucial factor to realize the socioeconomic objectives in India. Accordingly, the Department of Telecom has been formulating developmental policies for the accelerated growth of telecommunication services.

The department is also responsible for the grant of licenses for various telecom services like Unified Access Service Internet and VSAT service.

Age Limit:

• Candidates’ age should be below 28 years for Graduates/BE/BTech, 30
  Years Post Graduates/MTech/MS and 32 years for Ph.D. as of 1st July of the year of
  advertisement.
