About BSF

The Border Security Force (BSF) is India’s border guarding organization on its borders with Pakistan and Bangladesh. It is one of the seven Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) of India, and was raised in the wake of the 1965 war on December 1, 1965, “for ensuring the security of the borders of India and for matters connected therewith”. It has various active roles during an outbreak of war.

BSF is the only CAPF to have a Water Wing, Air Wing, and an Artillery Regiment.

    University; and
    ii) 2nd class master certificate issued by Central/State Inland
    Water Trans ort Authority / Mercantile Marine De artment.
SI (Engine Driver)

  • 10+2 or it’s equivalent from a recognized
    University; and
    ii) ISt class engine driver certificate issued by Central/State
    Inland Water Transport Authority/ Mercantile Marine
    Department.
SI (Workshop)

  • i) Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from a
    recognized University or equivalent; OR
    ii) 03 years diploma in Mechanical/ Marine/Auto Mobile
    Engineering from a recognized University or Institution.

    Rs.200/- (Rupees two hundred only) and candidates applying for HC (Master/
    Engine Drivermorkshop) & Constable (Crew) will pay Rs.100/- (Rupees one
    hundred only) as an examination fee through one of the following payment modes.
    Besides, Rs.47.20/- as service charges will be levied by Common Service Centre
    (CSC) from every candidate including exempted categories:-
